In this interview, we talk with Paul Reyes of Ciao Down! Ciao Down is a pizza and handcrafted Italian soda food truck based out of Tucson, Arizona. The owner, Paul Reyes, sat down and chatted with us about his experiences thus far starting his own business. His motivation behind starting his business was to be able to spend more time with his daughter.
What he didn’t expect was how much social media affects business.
Coming from a traditional luxury dining setting prior to Ciao Down, he was afraid he would have missed so much of his daughter’s life. Now, as a self-employed entrepreneur, he is able to enjoy all of the freedoms that come with setting his own schedule and being his own boss. Not only that, but he is able to see the fruits of his labor in a more direct way. He attributes much of their success to social media!
It is interesting to see how social media affects business in different industries, especially in Paul’s! People want to hear reviews from friends and family or read a review on google. It is so much more about a personal recommendation, rather than a restaurant critique from a professional. So how does social media affect businesses like food trucks?
With the nature of a food truck, they are able to serve food wherever they want and wherever there is a need.
Paul said it best himself, “whether it’s a kid’s birthday party or a brewery event, we are there to feed hungry people.”
